Go wild, go wild,
in comfort in the country……
We offer an alternative family friendly eco-chic adventure on our farm, set in 110 acres of unspoiled natural beauty - on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. The land at Burnicombe Farm is varied from the high ground where there is Burnicombe Down and the huge rocky outcrop of granite named Heltor down to the ancient woodland at the base of the valley which continues down to the River Teign. In between there are fields which are still defined by their medieval lay out, a large boating and swimming pond and our soft fruit plantation. Our farm is in organic conversion. We keep goats, cattle and poultry and we make hand made artisan ice cream with our fruit.
Our small yurt camp of only 6 yurts is set in the secluded wooded valley bordered by crystal clear streams - teaming with wild life and native plants - many of which are protected species. It is bordered by National Trust land and one can walk or cycle or ride on horse back for miles without using public roads.
Here's the chance to lie in bed and listen to owls, see rare butterflies collecting nectar from tree orchids while you rock gently in a hammock and let the kids run wild and make dens in the forest. One of our most popular features is our nature watch hide with night vision binos. If you are very quiet and when luck is on your side, you can see baby badgers playing and fallow deer feeding right next to you.
Burnicombe
Burnicombe has a very special ‘wow factor’ and is the perfect place for a unique ‘Eco-Chic’ Devon Yurt Holiday. Our small camp of only 6 yurts is wild and remote - but is comfortable and welcoming. You can relax in the privacy of an authentic hand crafted yurt - stylishly furnished, lit by tilly lamps and heated by a fine wood burning stove - and you can enjoy the natural world around you. Swing in a hammock under an old oak, see the magic of new born fawns in our moorland hide or paddle and play in the cool stream.
The ideal holiday to revitalise the soul and stimulate the senses.
